What Is a Cloud VPS and When Do You Need One?
A Cloud VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a virtual server running on cloud infrastructure, with CPU, RAM, and storage allocated exclusively to you. Unlike shared hosting managed through cPanel, a VPS gives you root access, so you are free to configure the operating system, software, and server security.
Choose a VPS if you:
- Run web applications, APIs, or internal company systems (ERP, CRM, POS).
- Need specific software such as Docker, Node.js, Python, or a particular database.
- Manage a mail server, VPN, or applications that need their own public IP.
- Run several high-traffic websites that have outgrown cloud hosting.
